The experience starts on the street: windows full of musical notes and scores mark the way to the entrance of the Czech Museum of Music (CMM), one of the specialized autonomous institutes of the National Museum of Prague. Located in a 17th century Baroque church, the museum benefits from an impressive architecture, both externally and internally. In the vast entry hall, a piano invites visitors to play and occasionally serves as the focal point for small concerts. Classical music echoes throughout the space. Together, these elements make the visit unique from the very moment visitors step inside the building.

Due to renovation works on the dome lantern of the Baroque church, the museum will remain closed until the end of the year. At the beginning of 2027, it will reopen in a new light, with a new temporary exhibition on the ground floor.
