Music and art have this magic thing inside of them, that touch our souls and make them dance. Around the world, there are so many artists whose stories I want to tell on this platform.
Every day, I explore new songs and sound spheres. Sometimes I feel the lyrics and sometimes it’s only the rhythms entering my soul. It’s like music is my oxygen I couldn’t live without.
Apart from this very individual experience in each of us, music connects people within one culture and at the same time echoes beyond borders through all around the world. In music, there are no language barriers.
Soulful sounds across borders
When wandering through the streets of an oldtown we might be enchanted by the melodies of street artists. The music of traditional restaurants echoing from one house to the other. As attentive travellers we should listen to the sounds we hear around us. When we can overhear a good song, we might feel attracted by a place. Music is a magic magnet.
It must be acknowledged that there is more to a music style than the sounds we can hear of it in the presence. Especially those styles that are crucial for shaping a culture usually carry a long history and meaning to the people of a country. To appreciate this cultural phenomenon, it is not enough to just listen to the music when you step by it. It is our own responsibility to get to know more about its backgrounds.
And that’s what I am here for! I look behind the surface of music, tell artists’ stories and draw attention to the diverse effects music can have on people.
